David Fisher

Biography

David earned his B.S. degree in Biochemistry from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo in 2011. In 2017 he obtained his PhD from UC Santa Barbara in the lab of Javier Read de Alaniz where his work focused on synthetic method development for C-N and C-O bond formation in small molecules. David then joined Apeel Sciences, with his early work focusing on process development for the synthesis of key formulation components. Later he transitioned to a formulation development role, resulting in the successful commercialization of several products key to streamlining the operational efficiency of the company. After nearly 8.5 years at Apeel, David joined the BioPACIFIC MIP in August 2025 as a Project Scientist to utilize his synthetic organic chemistry skillset to accelerate the automated synthesis of novel biomaterials.
