For Industry

BioPACIFIC MIP is open for use by industry personnel. Our high-throughput platforms can serve as an excellent resource for de-risking and accelerating research and development for materials discovery, process down-selection, or workflow optimization. Reproducibility is built into the design of synthesis workflows and our suite of advanced characterization tools provide complex and diverse datasets that can be readily integrated into machine learning models. Our expert staff is available to help researchers with everything from experimental design to analysis.

Companies can access BioPACIFIC MIP resources through either a user proposal – for non-proprietary work that will be shared with the user community – or through a flexible fee-for-use model that enables a la carte access to any instrument at BioPACIFIC MIP and adjacent core facilities at UCSB and UCLA. Fee-for-use work does not need to be strictly aligned with BioPACIFIC MIP's in-house research mission. Please see the Policies tab for additional information or contact us.

Seed-stage startups can also apply to co-locate with BioPACIFIC MIP at UCSB with a membership in the OASIS Incubator (https://oasis.ucsb.edu), or at UCLA with a membership at Magnify at CNSI (https://magnify.cnsi.ucla.edu/). BioPACIFIC MIP also welcomes collaborations with industry personnel, including on joint research projects and via instruction and mentorship in the BioPACIFIC MIP summer school and workshops.
