James is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the California NanoSystems Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles. He received B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia, M.S. in Environmental Science and Engineering from POSTECH, South Korea (advised by Prof. Suk Bong Hong), and Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Stockholm University (advised by Prof. Xiaodong Zou). During his Ph.D. studies, James focused on 3D electron diffraction (3D ED) and MicroED techniques to determine the structures of small molecules, ranging from zeolites and metal-organic frameworks to pharmaceuticals. James is interested in further developing 3D ED/MicroED techniques to gain structural insights of protein, polymer, and other soft materials.
