We are proud to share that BioPACIFIC MIP's Rachel Segalman, and professor of chemical engineering and materials at UC Santa Barbara, has been elected a 2025 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)—one of the highest honors in the scientific community.

This prestigious recognition highlights Prof. Segalman’s outstanding contributions to materials science and polymer engineering, as well as her leadership in developing platforms like BioPACIFIC MIP that accelerate innovation and collaboration across disciplines.

Part of a Larger UC Achievement

Prof. Segalman is among 46 University of California researchers named AAAS Fellows in 2025, representing nearly 10% of the national total. The honorees span all 10 UC campuses and affiliated national laboratories, reflecting the university system’s leading role in advancing knowledge and addressing global challenges.
