Yongkui Tang received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Peking University, Beijing, China, in 2014, followed by the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, USA, in 2016 and 2021, respectively. His graduate research was focused on microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), microfabrication, and piezoelectric acoustic transducers including self-focusing acoustic transducers (SFATs) and acoustic “tweezers” used in biomedical and actuation applications. In October 2021, he joined the Valentine group as a postdoctoral scholar. His current research is focused on studying the mechanics of biocompatible, photo-crosslinkable hydrogels as well as developing mechanically tunable microscale hydrogel sensors using microfluidic and photopatterning techniques.
